The Masked Raider

  Another entry in my "Forgotten Heroes" drawings. After my interview with Paul Kupperberg I joined the Charlton Arrow group on Facebook. I then took to the Digital Comics Museum to seek out old Charlton comics. I looked at all the choices and for some reason zeroes in on The Masked raider. I guess because he reminded me of the Lone Ranger. I liked how he was a bookish lawyer who had a pet eagle and had to hide who he really was from the town. Why he had to hide this and couldn't just tell everyone his secret I don't know. Maybe he didn't want the bad guys to hunt down his loved ones. Anyways I really like him and here is my drawing of him.

  I just wanted to draw the Flash is all. I didn't really know what to do with him. I mean he has to be running from something. This is the first time I've drawn a helicopter. It looks OK I guess.

Comander Kitty!

  Well here is what I came up with for a Kitty superhero. It was a lot of fun and I even got some ideas for a possible web comic from this character. He was created at the suggestion of a facebook friend and I am glad it was. I may have to ask for ideas again as after drawing Commander Kitty and Aquaman these last two days my creative wheels are turning once again!

Aquaman and Salty

  Yesterday I asked for ideas for drawings this week. I had just finished my comic and coloring book projects and my mind was kind of blank. I got two suggestions. One for a kitty superhero (which will be done tomorrow hopefully) and one for Aquaman. For those that don't know Aquaman is my favorite superhero. I know he has a reputation for being "lame" and that's cool if you think he is, I said he's my favorite hero I didn't say he was yours. Anyway I am always reluctant to draw him. I want to do him justice. And to be honest there is no way anyone could top the way Ivan Reis draws him. But I decided to get over my anxiety and go for it. I was thinking of an image of Aquaman that hasn't been done yet. In case you didn't know Aquaman has a dog. His name is Salty. Being a dog person myself I love the fact that Aquaman has a dog. So I decided that maybe I could just show my favorite hero and his buddy going for a nice quiet walk on the beach. I hope everyone enjoys it.

  Well my coloring book is done!It will be available next month! I'm pretty proud to have finished two books in about a months time! I've never done that before! So yay me! Night Thrasher

    So last Sunday I was introduced to a new podcast called The Crashpod. It is a podcast dedicated to the Marvel comic The New Warriors. I was reminded how much I enjoyed this series back in the 90's and it motivated me to draw the leader of the team Night Thrasher! So I hope you give the podcast a listen and enjoy the drawing!

  Remember last week when I posted The Black Lion? Well that image is now available as a T-Shirt.
This week I bring you another forgotten hero from the golden age! This being the man feared by criminals world wide in the 40's and 50's the one, the only, Captain Wonder! Now I have no idea what color his costume is as the only reference pictures I found were in black and white. So I put my own color scheme on it.
